PITTSBURGH — A community cleanup in Pittsburgh’s East Hills is helping pave the way for more affordable housing.
Crews and volunteers spent Wednesday clearing out vacant properties as part of the East Hills revitalization project.
They’re working to reclaim abandoned properties and create more opportunities for first-time homebuyers.
“We all live in neighborhoods, and every neighborhood has problems,” said Kendall Pelling, founder of Rising Tide Partners. “By working together, we can solve problems that seem insurmountable.”
Along with clearing out the vacant properties, crews planted daffodil bulbs to help beautify the area.
