Saturday, families in Westmoreland County gathered to raise support for the boy.

Spaghetti, meatballs and other foods were sold to visitors. There were also several baskets up for auction, which included prizes like tickets to Pittsburgh Penguins games.

All of the proceeds from the dinner were given to the Watson family to relieve financial stress during a difficult time.

The fundraiser was put together by members of The Olde Spitfire Grille.

“If there’s anything COVID has taught us, it is that you need to support local and the local restaurants in our area have given overwhelming support to this family,” said Nancy Pastorius with The Olde Spitfire Grille.

Watson’s sixth birthday is approaching in a few weeks.
