ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A couple is accused of going on a stealing spree, and police said they brought a teenager with them.
Jason Peterson and Misty Cronin targeted retail stores in Robinson Township and had a 14-year-old boy do some of their dirty work, police said.
"It's actually horrible that they got a minor involved with them in this scheme," said Robinson Police Chief Dale Vietmeir.
Police said Peterson and Cronin would enter the stores, steal merchandise and then send the eighth-grader in to return the stolen item for cash.
According to police, between April 2003 and April 2014, the couple pocketed more than $2,500.
The boy's legal guardian told Channel 11 she had no idea the boy was being used by someone she trusted.
