McKeesport manufacturer CP Industries will build a 25,000-square-foot structure at its local operations to build more high-pressure steel pressure vessels in a $21.7 million investment.
CP Industries has been in McKeesport since 1897 and bills itself as the leading global manufacturer of large seamless steel pressure vessels for compressed gases in the transportation and storage of industrial, military, oil/gas and alternative fuel industries. It is owned by Everest Kanto Cylinder Ltd., which is based in Dubai and India. It has 197,000 square feet of production space in McKeesport, according to EKC’s website.
The investment will retain 115 full-time jobs and add 78 more over the next five years, according to a news release from Gov. Josh Shapiro’s office. It has been making composite seamless vessels since 2014.
