DERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Three days before the Derry Township Agricultural Fair is set to begin, crews are working to rebuild preparations that were undone by Wednesday’s storms.

Nick Johnston, with Pitt Rental Center, said the tents that had been set up for the fair came down in seconds as storms moved through the area.

“When things started to get black, we pulled all our crew, all our volunteers out of the tents, and by the time we got to our vehicles, that's when it all collapsed,” said Lacy Weimer.

Channel 11’s Joe Holden reported holes in tent canvases, but workers said none of the poles that hold up the tents were damaged.

The weeklong fair opens Sunday.
