Cultural Trust’s new multi-year plan includes Byham Theater renovations, Katz Plaza refresh

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is preparing to renovate the Byham Theater and refurbish the Agnes R. Katz Plaza as part of efforts to boost downtown.

The renovations are part of a multi-year strategic plan for the Trust, which will run from 2028 to 2030. It is the first multi-year plan devised under Trust President and CEO Kendra Whitlock Ingram, who took over in 2023 and who announced the plans at what is planned to be a now Annual Community Meeting.

“We are now developing the Cultural Trust’s next multi-year strategic plan, the first under my leadership, which will guide us through 2030,” Whitlock Ingram said. “We are consistently observing, measuring and evaluating our work, not simply to report on what we’ve done, but to make thoughtful decisions about how we continue advancing that mission through 2030.”
