Disbarred attorney from Uniontown pleads guilty, will repay stolen $10K

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A disbarred attorney from Uniontown has pleaded guilty to charges that he stole $10,500 in restitution paid by his clients instead of handing it over to the court, but hopes to avoid incarceration by repaying the money.

Nicholas Timperio Jr., 45, pleaded guilty before a Fayette County judge on Monday, who will sentence him Nov. 14.

Authorities said Timperio received $8,500 from a client in an October 2010 criminal case but failed to forward the money to the court and did the same thing with $2,000 in restitution from another client.

Timperio had agreed to voluntary disbarment before police filed the charges.

The attorney told Judge John Wagner he intends to repay the money from a retirement account he has.
