PENN HILLS, Pa. — A dog attack in Penn Hills claimed the life of a 79-year-old woman.
Neighbors tell us the victim had two dogs, and they were always by her side.
When officers got there, we’re told, they had to shoot the dog that attacked the woman just to get to her body.
When Kathleen Noll’s daughter arrived at their home on Sherwood Drive Tuesday night, she discovered a horrific scene.
911 dispatch calls give insight into the response.
“Caller is advising that a dog has killed her mom.”
According to the 911 calls obtained by Channel 11, Noll’s daughter wasn’t even able to get to her mother’s body — after their family dog killed her.
“The female caller doesn’t believe she’s going to be able to get access to the mother because the dog is still out there.”
“They’re advising that the dog and the victim are confined in the same area, which is the backyard.”
When police and medics got there, they found Noll dead.
According to the medical examiner, she was killed after the dog attacked her and bit her multiple times on her head and neck.
Sources tell Channel 11 that, for officers to get to Noll’s body, they had to shoot her dog.
Neighbors say that the second dog is still alive, and it didn’t have anything to do with the attack. They also say Noll was a private woman and wish the best for her daughter.
