BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Friends and fans gathered at a funeral home in Beaver Falls to honor local music legend, Donnie Iris.
The Iris family arranged a memorial display at the Gabuer-Lutton Funeral Home featuring photographs from various stages of Iris’ life.
The goal of the display was to provide an opportunity for supporters and acquaintances to bid him farewell.
Visitors wrote goodbye notes throughout the day at the facility on Thursday..
Julie Filauri, a friend of Iris, spoke about his character and connection to the community.
“He brings people together. He’s such a good person, humble; the legend that he was, he was just a regular guy, a yinzer. He’ll be missed,” Filauri said.
Every note written during the event is set to be given to the family of Iris.
