PITTSBURGH — The wet weather has prompted dozens of flights departing from Pittsburgh International Airport to be canceled Friday.
Travelers are urged to check their flight status before arriving.
Airport staff prepared for the wet weather in advance. Airfields and roads were pre-treated on Thursday, and Channel 11 saw plows and salt trucks circling on Friday morning.
Some travelers faced poor conditions while traveling to the airport. Maryanne Gerst of Imperial said roads were “ice, snow-covered.”
“It’s terrible, it really is,” she said. “I think people are really going to be late because the roads are bad.”
