McKEES ROCKS, Pa. — A driver suspected of driving under the influence crashed his car into a McKees Rocks restaurant early Friday morning.
Investigators said the accident happened just after midnight.
Police said the driver, John Kuth, lost control of his car and drove into Carol Ann's Corner Store Restaurant.
"We are suspecting the driver was intoxicated. The driver and the passenger who was the owner of the vehicle showed signs of intoxication," Cifrulak said.
John Kapko, 56, was inside of the restaurant at the time of the crash. Investigators said he's lucky to be alive after the car pinned him to a wall. He is expected to be OK.
"He was alert and conscious. He was complaining of an arm injury that he couldn’t feel his arm," said McKees Rocks police Chief Robert Cifrulak.
Police said Kuth and a passenger were not hurt.
People who live in four apartments above the restaurant did not have to leave.
The owner of the restaurant said she's not sure how much it will cost to fix the damages, but the restaurant will remain open.
