DONORA, Pa. — Residents of Donora are demanding answers from local government about a roach infestation that has been going on for a month.

Dorothy Gula, who lives across the street from a house that was condemned, said she has tried everything to get rid of the roaches. So far, she’s had no success.

“I mean we’ve got dead roaches on our porch, I found two in my house from the door and I’m just livid,” Gula said.

After neighbors told City Council about the problems Thursday night, mayor Don Pavelko said action has been taken.

“We have the exterminating company coming in tomorrow so they can at least address this problem,” said Pavelko.

Pavelko also said that the main problem with the property the roaches are living in is the fact that it is owned by an out-of-state bank.
