FAYETTE COUNTY,Pa. — One person was killed in an accident on Route 119 in South Union Township, Fayette County Monday morning.
Police said the victim Christina Yauger, 19, was buying a new house and on her way to sign the paperwork.
"From what we were able to gather from witnesses, they did indicate that she was traveling at a higher rate of speed. That portion of the roadway, a lot of it is straight, but a portion of it is curved," said Trooper Stefani Plume.
Police said that area of Route 119 is unique. Toll Road 43 ends and merges in with traffic.
"A lot of time, we get people that think it still is the toll road and they go a little faster than they should because they don't realize the two roads had intersected," said Plume.
Investigators said Yauger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
