FAYETTE COUNTY — A priest at Saints Cyril & Methodius Parish in Fairchance in Fayette County resigned from his position on Jan. 25 after accusations surfaced that he engaged in inappropriate behavior with a 19-year-old.
According to a statement from the Diocese of Greensburg, Fr. Douglas Dorula was immediately removed from ministry and placed on administrative leave after the allegation came the day before his official resignation.
The statement also said that according to Diocesan policy, the allegation was reported to Fayette County police.
Dorula also resigned from his position at St. Hubert Parish in Point Marion.
According to the statement, Fr. Michael Crookston, VF, Dean of Region VII, has been appointed Administer Pro-Tem of both parishes. Fr. Crookston will work to ensure that the administrative and pastoral needs of the two parishes are met during this difficult time.
