Fire damages church on Holy Week in Armstrong County

MANOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Flames and smoke damaged the inside of a church in Armstrong County on Wednesday.

Firefighters with Ford City Hose Company #1 said they were called to the 200 block of Blainey Road in Manor Township on Wednesday afternoon.

Smoke could be seen coming out of the windows and doors at the Kittanning Church of Christ.

Church officials said the fire was contained to two classrooms on the bottom floor of the building. They said there is a lot of water damage in that area.

The upstairs area of the church only sustained smoke damage.

Easter Sunday services will be held at the Kittanning Township Fire Hall, church officials said.
