SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Firefighters battled a blaze at a business in Scott Township early Tuesday morning.
Emergency responders were called to Chartiers Valley Self Storage and Mike Jones Flooring around 6 a.m.
The blaze forced emergency responders to close Noblestown Road.
Witnesses said they heard an explosion, and then saw flames coming from the building.
"I heard a 'pop'. We don't know what the pop was. The owner says he keeps gasoline outside of the shed so that could have been it. We are worried that someone may have started it," said neighbor Maureen O'Donnell.
Firefighters said most of the fire was contained to Mike Jones Flooring and that the blaze was likely caused by glue and chemicals inside of the business.
"We are thinking that the load of the foreign material, and the glue, and also with the structure collapse with the roof is what is giving us the hardest time, and giving us the hardest time to extinguish the fire," said Scott Township fire chief Adam Kauer.
There are no reports of injuries.
