PITTSBURGH — A local mother wanted her voice heard, and now, she’s seeing results.
Lindsay Ruffner contacted Channel 11 News after she said her daughter was nearly injured in her infant bathtub.
Ruffner was a frustrated consumer who wasn't sure how to get her concerns addressed. Channel 11's Katherine Amenta met with Ruffner again on Monday and found out she's making progress.
According to Ruffner, she was contacted a few days after our original story aired about her Summer Infant Lil' Luxuries Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa and Shower.
Ruffner told Amenta she recently sat down with an investigator from the Consumer Product Safety Commission to talk about her complaint.
Ruffner showed Amenta paperwork from the investigator that said each incident has the potential to lead to a recall.
“I’m glad. Other parents have contacted me saying thank you for coming forward,” Ruffner said. “At least now they know there’s something they can do and not just throw it away and let it happen to someone else.”
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has not responded to Amenta’s request for comment.
