Forbes releases NHL franchise valuations, here’s where the Penguins stand

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins are squarely in the middle of the pack when it comes to NHL team valuations.

On Dec. 14, Forbes released its annual list of hockey team valuations, and the Pens skated in at No. 15 out of 32 teams.

After being purchased by Fenway Sports Group at the end of 2021 for a reported $900 million, the ownership group is seeing a tidy return on investment, as the team is currently worth $990 million.

There was little change in the teams at the top of the list, although all saw their values increase.
