FORWARD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Outraged neighbors are pushing back against plans for a data center in Forward Township.

A developer, 614 Prospect, wants to build a complex the size of 17 football fields.

A meeting was held on Thursday night, and neighbors showed up to voice their concerns.

“Obviously, one of the concerns we’ve heard about, I want to make one thing clear: we will not be drawing water from the Conoquenessing Creek,” the developer said.

That comment was met with a barrage of raised voices who had more questions about that creek.

Many of the other concerns included the noise and utility use.

So many people turned out to have their voices heard during a meeting that was scheduled last week that it had to be canceled because there wasn’t enough room for everyone.

If the data center gets final approval, it could be built by mid-2029.
