PITTSBURGH — On Wednesday, the James Beard Foundation released its list of semifinalists for the 2022 James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards.
The awards are highly prestigious in the culinary and food media industries, and were canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and criticism regarding a lack of diversity in the awards.
This year, four Pittsburgh chefs have been named as semifinalists in the Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic category, which accounts for chefs in Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
