MURRYSVILLE, Pa. — Franklin Regional Middle School was evacuated Thursday morning due to a chemical spill inside the building.
School officials told Channel 11 News that students were moved to the high school after a minor mechanical issue inside the middle school building caused chlorine to spill.

Emergency responders and hazmat crews were called to the school about 8:30 a.m. and remained at the scene for about two hours. The spill was contained to a storage closet.
The building has since been deemed safe. However, students will stay at the high school for the remainder of the day.
