Frozen pasta sold at Walmart stores across the country was recalled because of possible Listeria contamination.
Gias Foods is recalling all lot codes of Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine because of possible contamination. The recall is the result of routine sampling, which revealed the finished product may contain Listeria monocytogenes.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
The recalled frozen pasta is sold in 22 oz yellow plastic packaging. It has a UPC # of 194346442706.
Anyone with the recalled product should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
An investigation is underway to determine what caused the possible contamination.
Listeria contamination can cause infections that could prove deadly to young children, frail or elderly people or those with a weakened immune system.
Healthy people may only have short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain or diarrhea.
If a pregnant woman contracts a Listeria infection, it can cause miscarriage or a stillbirth.
