PITTSBURGH — After welcoming more than 1 million people to The Point, the giant 40-foot rubber duck is leaving Pittsburgh.
The display technically closed Sunday night following the Steelers game at Heinz Field, but the duck was not deflated and removed until Monday.
The giant duck was an art installation for the Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts, an arts festival representing performing and visual arts from around the world.
Although the duck’s time in Pittsburgh is coming to an end, it contractually cannot go to another city until January.
