PITTSBURGH — Friday February 7 is National Wear Red Day, an effort by the American Heart Association to spread awareness of the number one women’s health threat: heart disease.
According to the American Heart Association, nearly 45% of women over the age of 20 are living some form of Cardiovascular disease.
The Pittsburgh skyline will light up red Friday night, including the Highmark spire and building, City-County Building, UPMC, the Gulf Tower, Acrisure Stadium and more.
The American Heart Association shared several ways you can participate on National Wear Red Day.
- Wear Red: Wear your favorite red attire, lipstick, nail polish, tie, scarf, shoelaces, glasses.
- Post your photos on social media wearing red using the hashtags #WearRedDay and #PghGoesRed
- Visit www.GoREDforWomen.org to get connected and learn more ways to love your heart.
