PITTSBURGH — A regional park has an unusual crew working to restore some of its forested areas.

A group of goats will spend two weeks in Frick Park eating invasive plants.

The project’s manager said the goats work better than a weed whacker.

“They are really thorough, really efficient. They work 24/7,” said a project manager. “It’s a great partnership with us and the animals.

Once the goats clear out the invasive plants, the crews will replant the area with native trees and shrubs.

The last stop they make will be in Schenley Park.
