Google vacating some office space in Bakery Square

PITTSBURGH — Google will be vacating some of its office space in Pittsburgh, the company confirmed on Friday.

The tech giant confirmed it will not renew the lease for two of its floors in the Bakery Square development in East Liberty but will reopen another floor that had been closed for renovation. Google has held office space in East Liberty since 2009 and expanded its presence in 2022. It’s unknown how many square feet the two floors encompass.

“We’re focused on investing in real estate efficiently to meet the current and future needs of our hybrid workforce,” Google Spokesperson Ryan Lamont said in a prepared statement. “We remain committed to our long-term presence in Pittsburgh.”
