GREENSBURG, Pa. — A Westmoreland County school district now has a new superintendent.
Dr. Andrew Oberg was sworn into the position for the Greensburg Salem School District on Tuesday.
School board president Robin Savage, board member Frank Gazze and solicitor Russell Lucas joined Oberg at the Westmoreland County Courthouse for the occasion.
Savage said she was excited to welcome him.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Oberg to our district,” said Mrs. Savage. “We’re excited for all that lies ahead as he begins this new chapter with us.”
Oberg previously served as superintendent of McGuffey School District in Washington County.
He will look after around 2,400 students living across Greensburg, Salem Township, South Greensburg and Southwest Greensburg.
