PITTSBURGH — More housing is coming to the heart of Pittsburgh’s Strip District.
Thursday, McCaffery Interests broke ground on its new Brickworks project.
The multi-family development will include 260 luxury units across two buildings.
There will also be an elevated pool deck and pet amenities.
Developers say this is one of the few vacant sites left in the busy neighborhood.
McCaffery Interests CEO Dan McCaffery said, “And you take a look at where we are now, the Strip District — and I’m not the only guy that spotted it, you know — I mean, look at the townhomes and the apartments and everything. It’s a bustling area. The city is the reason for it, but the Strip District is enjoying a lot of it.”
The company has worked on several other projects in the neighborhood, including converting the Cork Factory Lofts and redeveloping the Strip District Terminal.
“We love Pittsburgh,” McCaffery said. “Pittsburgh has been a great market for McCaffery. We have a very strong connection to the city, and it’s been good to us.”
Another developer will build 40 townhomes at the Brickworks site.
