ROSTRAVER, Pa. — Major traffic delays have been reported on Interstate 70 in Westmoreland County due to a crumbling median wall.
PennDOT crews worked overnight to remove the old wall, and had closed all westbound lanes early Wednesday.
Later in the morning, one westbound lane reopened, but eastbound traffic was restricted to one lane, too, causing delays in both directions as they approach Rostraver.

Police had been forcing westbound drivers off the highway at Exit 46, which put them onto state Route 51. Drivers could take that highway to Finley Road and re-enter the interstate at Exit 43, which connects with state Route 201.
Officials told Channel 11's Dave Bondy the support wall is OK, but it's unclear what caused the wall to crumble or how long the lane restrictions would last Wednesday.
