Heinz apologizes after QR code on bottle took man to porn site

BERLIN — Daniel Korell wrote to the Pittsburgh-based company on Facebook, saying he scanned the code on a bottle of Heinz Hot Ketchup expecting to be taken to a label design contest but was instead taken to a porn site.

According to foodproductiondaily.com , Heinz apologized to Korell, saying the company's ownership of the website expired after the contest ended in 2014.

He was also offered a free custom-designed bottle.

"Even if the bottle was a leftover, it's still in lots of households," Korell said in a comment to UPI.
