Teen arrested in connection with death of boy found under Lincoln-Lemington bridge

PITTSBURGH — Police arrested one of two people wanted in connection with the case of a missing teen’s body that was found by family members under a bridge in Pittsburgh's Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood.

Investigators said 18-year-old Shawn Jones was arrested at a home in Beaver Falls on Wednesday. Police said Jones is facing several charges including criminal homicide, robbery and criminal conspiracy.

Police continue to search for 17-year-old Tyqwan Brooks, of Larimer.

Marvin Washington said he found the victim, his 17-year-old son, Elijah Washington, under the Larimer Avenue Bridge last week.

"Me and my oldest son got up this morning and went searching for him. I called the school and asked if he showed up to  school, and they told me he hadn't," Marvin Washington said. "My oldest son and I started to look on the side of the tracks, and we found him."

Washington said he had been searching for his son since learning late Tuesday that the teen might be in trouble. Washington said his son appeared to have been shot in the head.

Elijah Washington called his father about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to say he and some friends were getting a tattoo. Marvin Washington's oldest son, Jaymein Washington, 22, was called about midnight by some of Elijah Washington's friends, who told him there had been trouble and they weren't sure who may have been hurt, according to TribLIVE.

Anyone with information on Brooks' whereabouts is asked to call 412-323-7161.
