Homicide investigation underway after missing man’s body found in Penn Hills

PENN HILLS, Pa. — An investigation is underway after a man’s body was discovered in Penn Hills.

Ricci Cloonan was found dead in the woods behind Melvin Court in Penn Hills around 8:40 p.m. on Sept. 18, an Allegheny County police spokesperson tells Channel 11.

Cloonan, 60, had been reported missing since Sept. 14

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office only identified Cloonan on Thursday. His cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.

Allegheny County detectives are investigating Cloonan’s death as a homicide, the spokesperson says.
