Temperature, humidity creeping up for work week

PITTSBURGH — Some of the hottest weather of the season is on the way and humidity levels will be creeping up too. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s by Tuesday, then soar into the 90s through the end of the week. Humidity levels will be creeping up too and the combination of heat and humidity could push heat index values into the mid to upper 90s, with some areas touching 100.

Heat advisories may be issued for the dangerous heat, so plan now to adjust your outdoor work to the early morning or late evening during the coolest part of the day. Check on elderly neighbors to make sure they are staying cool and keep an eye on pets.

A few pop up showers or a stray storm may pop up from time to time, but it won’t be enough to cool us off.
