PLUM BOROUGH, Pa. — Slide repair work on Hulton Road in Plum Borough has been extended, keeping the road closed around-the-clock for another month, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The closure affects Route 2058 between Eastern Avenue and Morath Lane in Allegheny County.
The extended road closure has also required ongoing service adjustments for local public transit.
Pittsburgh Regional Transit is modifying its bus service throughout the duration of the road closure. The agency converted the P16H Penn Hills Flyer via Harmar route to the P16L Penn Hills Flyer via Leechburg to and from Unity-Trestle Road, with service terminating at Leechburg Road and Milltown Road. Service to Harmar, Oakmont and Hulton Road, including Hulton Arbors, will remain unavailable until the road reopens.
PennDOT posted a detoured route for drivers affected by the closure. Drivers west of the repair site are directed to travel west on Hulton Road to the intersection with Coxcomb Hill Road, turn left onto Allegheny River Boulevard, turn left onto Sandy Creek Road (Route 130), turn left onto Verona Road, bear right onto Saltsburg Road, turn left onto Leechburg Road and turn left onto Milltown Road before bearing left back onto Hulton Road. Drivers east of the closure will follow the same detour in the opposite direction.
The road is slated to reopen to traffic by Oct. 16.
