MONONGAHELA, Pa. — Almost 500 people celebrated National Cancer Survivors Day at the Monongahela Valley hospital Sunday.
The hospital hosted a picnic to celebrate those who have won their battles with cancer.
It was also the 30th anniversary of the hospital’s research center.
“To me, this is a great celebration of life. That's what it means to me. My father had cancer. I know what it means to grow up with a person who had multiple illnesses and lived,” said Louis Panza Jr., president and CEO of Monongahela Valley Hospital.
