PITTSBURGH — The ice rink at PPG Place in downtown Pittsburgh will be open Christmas Day, despite a previous announcement that it would be closed due to warm temperatures.
On Thursday morning, the decision to close the rink for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was announced on PPG Place's website. However, the rink was only closed for a short time Thursday before opening.

Managers told Channel 11 News that the rink will be open Friday as well.
Anyone hoping to visit the rink is advised to check PPG Place's website for hours or call 412-394-3641.
The rink, located between Third and Fourth avenues, is set to be opened through Feb. 28.
