MASONTOWN, Pa. — Masontown police said they're investigating after a taped fight between girls was found on YouTube.
Police Chief Joseph Ryan said the fight happened in the Fort Mason Village Housing complex.
It is not clear when the fight happened, though a cellphone video of the fight showing several girls punching and kicking each other was posted to the website on April 10.
Ryan said fights are becoming more frequent in that area, and they want to put a stop to it.
“It made me sick. It’s appalling that no one would do anything to help the girl,” said a woman who lives in the housing complex. “It’s crazy what she went through.”
Police said that at this point they know who was involved, and they could face disorderly conduct charges. The Masontown police chief said the victim and witnesses aren’t cooperating, which is making everything more difficult.
“She is probably scared,” another anonymous woman from the housing complex said. “Look what happened to her when the police weren’t involved. She is probably scared to death.”
Officers said they're having a hard time pursuing the case because witnesses are not cooperating with police.
