IUP’s tuition affordability plan greenlit, 20% in savings for students in September

INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. — The fourth-largest university in the Pittsburgh region says it has big savings in store for students come September. Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s tuition affordability plan was approved by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education board of governors at its meeting late on Wednesday.

Basically, IUP will switch to a flat tuition rate of $7,716 from its current system of charging per credit for undergraduate students who are residents of the commonwealth.

Effective fall 2022, undergraduate Pennsylvania residents taking 15 credits per semester will realize a savings of almost 20% on tuition, or a total of $1,854 over the academic year, compared to the present per-credit cost.
