PITTSBURGH — Family and friends of the man killed in an armored truck heist said they've been waiting for two months to hear about the suspect's arrest.

Kenneth Konias Jr. was arrested in connection to the Feb. 28 slaying on Monday night in Florida. Konias is accused of killing Michael Haines, a Garda Cash Logistics security guard, and making off with more than $2 million.

Haines' friends spoke to Channel 11 News on Tuesday night after learning about Konias' arrest. They said while it doesn't take away the grief of losing Haines, they feel it's a step toward justice in the case.

Investigators said Haines was shot and killed execution-style inside of the armored truck he and Konias shared on the job.

"I just kept praying that he [Konias] would be caught and be made accountable for what he did. He took away a very special person for greed," said friend Diane Krsul.

"He's dead because he was a good guy," said Joe Krsul. "If he was a bad guy he would have helped Konias. He died because everyone knew he was a good man."

Haines was supposed to be a groomsman in his friend's wedding on Saturday. The groom said that Konias' arrest is the best wedding present he could have received.
