Officials ID man killed in Murrysville crash

MURRYSVILLE, Pa. — The Medical Examiner has identified a 50-year-old man who died Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Westmoreland County.

Officials said the crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Surrey Drive in Murrysville.

Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth Bacha’s office identified the victim as David Seigh.

He failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, left the north berm, and collided with a large tree at the above incident location.

Investigators said Seigh was the operator and lone occupant of a 2002 Ford Taurus traveling west on Manor Road.

Deputy Coroner Timothy P. O'Donnell pronounced Seigh dead at the scene.

The official cause of death was ruled as blunt force trauma to the head, neck and chest. The manner of death was ruled accidental.

Through witness statements, speed is believed to have played a factor. A seatbelt was not used by the decedent, investigators said.
