PITTSBURGH — A local jazz musician was shot and killed at a home in Lincoln-Lemington over the weekend.
Leroy Wofford, 59, was a member of the Pittsburgh Jazz Society and was known for his talents on stage.
Police said they were called a home Sunday night after Wofford called 911 and told dispatchers that two men came to the door and when he answered shots were fired.
Investigators said Wofford later died.
Ronald Womble said he was friends with Wofford since high school and that he'll be greatly missed.
"Leroy was a good musician. He was a drummer and he was fantastic. I had just seen him last week," Womble said.
So far, no arrests have been made.
