Long-term westbound Parkway East lane restrictions start Monday

Long-term lane restrictions on the westbound Parkway East begin on Monday night.

PennDOT says the restrictions are for median barrier sealing work. They will affect westbound travel between the Monroeville/Plum (Exit 84 A/B) and Penn Hills (Exit 81) interchanges.

Starting at 9 p.m. Monday, an around-the-clock lane closure will take effect within the three-lane section of westbound I-376. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane as needed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly and mobile rolling lane restrictions may occur within two-lane sections.

The work zone spans Churchill Borough, Wilkins Township, Monroeville and Penn Hills. The restrictions are scheduled to continue through 5 a.m. on Nov. 16, though officials note they could be lifted earlier if work is done ahead of schedule.

The barrier sealing is part of the $70.1 million I-376 Parkway East Betterment Project.
