GREENSBURG, Pa. — A full-size farm pig fell out of a transport trailer on a road in Greensburg on Sunday afternoon.
A member of the Pennsylvania Animal Response Team’s Westmoreland, Fayette, Allegheny Chapter witnessed the pig fall on a back road. Animal response personnel and Pennsylvania State Police officers arrived shortly after to assist.
State police officers identified and located the pig’s owner, who returned to the scene with the trailer.
Responders used specialized equipment, including glide and sorting boards, to guide the pig back into the trailer. Local neighbors also assisted during the response by controlling traffic and helping keep the pig calm.
The pig was transported back to its original farm to be evaluated by a veterinarian.
