Maintenance man accused of stealing, pawning items

MONROEVILLE — A Monroeville man is facing charges for allegedly stealing items from the apartment complex where he worked and pawning them.

Damian Rivers, 47, is accused of entering an apartment at Walnut Crossings of Monroeville, 4175 Ivanhoe Drive, and taking three rings, including an engagement ring and wedding ring, worth $8,000. A detective with the Monroeville police department said Rivers pawned the rings at a shop on Smithfield Street for $220.

As of Wednesday morning, Rivers had not yet been arraigned.
