PITTSBURGH,None — As 10th anniversary festivities draw to a close for The Mall at Robinson, the shopping center has announced a series of tenant expansions and store renovations to punctuate its season of celebration.
According to Shema Krinsky, director of marketing at The Mall at Robinson, the anniversary marked the renewal period for many of the property's retail tenants who had 10-year leases when the center originally opened in October 2001.
"Our goal is to ensure that our tenants are poised for a new era of success," said Krinsky. "The renewal process ensures that services and facilities are well maintained, consumer-focused and reflect the latest retail marketing and store design trends."
Some stores will undergo a full renovation in 2012, which may involve introducing an entirely new concept and shopping experience. Others are investing in a cosmetic remodel, which typically includes new fixtures, carpeting, flooring, lighting and paint.
Most stores will remain open for business during the renovation periods, which are staggered throughout 2012 to guarantee that the Mall can deliver a quality shopping experience. Some stores will relocate temporarily during the construction of their permanent space.
Elements of the renewal plan offer an expanded selection for both the modern male and female shopper.
"We've been able to serve a variety of niche markets very well here since our opening in 2001," said Krinsky. "Now, we are creating more options for the professional and mature style -- in addition to serving the needs of our region's young families and teens."
The Mall at Robinson is investing in some updates for its common areas in 2012 as well.
"Some of the highlights to our physical improvements include new carpeting, free Wi-Fi center-wide and our new gallery partnership with Pittsburgh Technical Institute," said Krinsky.
"The good news is that nearly all of our tenants are re-investing, expanding and flourishing in the Pittsburgh region," said Krinsky.
