PITTSBURGH — Surveillance video is proving to be the key piece of evidence for Pittsburgh Police as they are investigating the rape of a woman after a night out on East Carson Street.
Investigators are looking for Larry Pappy Johnson, who they say dragged the victim into this parking lot off South 14th Street, then raped her.
According to investigators, the victim told police she had a drink at a bar on East Carson Street, and the next thing she knew, she was waking up in the hospital without any of her belongings.
Police say that during the time period between her drink and waking up in the hospital, officers found her naked in a parking lot.
She told them she couldn’t remember what happened.
Surveillance cameras cover almost every inch of the parking lot.
According to investigators, one of the cameras captured the man holding the woman by her waist because she couldn’t even stand.
Police say the surveillance shows Johnson raping the victim, then leaving her in the parking lot with her purse draped around his neck. Detectives say he also stole her phone and Apple Watch.
Johnson is facing several felony charges. At this point, he has not been taken into custody.
