ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — An 18-year-old man accused of robbing another man at gunpoint at a bus stop at Ross Park Mall was out on bond when the alleged robbery happened, according to police.

Ross Township police were called to the mall’s bus stop Tuesday night for a report of an armed robbery.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police Robert Broadus complimented his chain before threatening to take it.

Police say Broadus then exposed a gun in his waistband.

The complaint alleges Broadus took the victim’s chain and vape before boarding a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus to get away.

Officers eventually caught Broadus a few bus stops away. Police say he was found with the chain and a loaded gun.

This wasn’t the first time Broadus had been accused of a serious offense.

According to a separate criminal complaint, Broadus was previously accused of leading Swissvale police on a pursuit in a stolen car.

Police say that during that incident, the car struck a fence and a porch before repeatedly ramming police cruisers. Three officers say they moved out of the way to avoid being hit.

The complaint says Broadus ran into a wooded area before officers caught him.
