NEW CASTLE, Pa. — An 18-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting and robbing a woman in New Castle turned himself in to police on Sunday.

Authorities said Tylan Huddleston was wanted for more than a week for his alleged involvement in a violent attack.

According to police, Huddleston is accused of raping a woman in her car and forcing her to drive around while he held a gun to her head. Investigators said Huddleston is also accused of pistol-whipping the woman until she was unconscious.

"Her so-called friend knew the suspect and we learned the two have been exchanging text messages about the rape," New Castle Police Chief Robert Salem said. "This was a horrific crime and a very brutal one, but she's doing as best she can."

Huddleston remains jailed, and Hilton posted bond, police said.
