PITTSBURGH — A man was severely beaten Friday in Brighton Heights by a group of people playing basketball on his hoop.

Police said a man walked out of his California Avenue home around 8:30 p.m. Friday to ask a group of kids to stop using the basketball hoop he owns.

Timothy Wynn, 20, then attacked the man and knocked him to the ground while a girl and another suspect kicked him before running from the property, police said.

According to police, the teen girl yelled to the man’s family, “I know where you live. I’m going to get you.”

Channel 11’s Vince Sims reported that the man suffered several broken ribs as a result of the attack.

“You have to have respect for these adults, especially because they are the ones that have lived here for a while and are looking over everyone that lives in the area. It's scary, it really is,” said Kristen Myden.

Police caught Wynn and the girl.

The girl was charged with intimidating a witness.
