SWISSVALE, Pa. — A man died at UPMC Mercy Hospital Friday night after a shooting in Swissvale, the medical examiner confirmed.
The victim was identified Saturday morning as Javon Thornton, 20, of Wilkinsburg.

Emergency dispatchers said the shooting happened on Westmoreland Avenue around 9:30 p.m.
The victim was initially taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m., the medical examiner said.
A Channel 11 News crew reported seeing at least 15 gunshot markers on the ground at the scene.
No additional information was immediately available.
